Report animal issues
Field Service Division provides animal control services to the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County including the Stanford Campus.
What we do
Santa Clara County Animal Services Officers can assist in the following:
- Pick up lost or displaced domestic animals
- Patrol for stray, roaming, or aggressive domestic animals
- Investigate animal bites
- Investigate dangerous dog complaints
- Investigate animal abuse and neglect, including livestock and exotic animals
- Pick up injured or sick domestic animals
- Assist with injured wildlife
- Pick up deceased animals within County jurisdiction and all expressways within Santa Clara County
Officers handle roughly 3,000 calls for service a year and cover close to 1,300 square miles of the county!

Our officers are available 7 days a week and operate out of our field office in San Martin from 8 am to 4:30 pm. In case of an emergency after our regular office hours, on holidays, or during weekends, please call 911 for immediate assistance. For non-emergency concerns or inquiries, you may leave a detailed message on our voicemail, which is regularly monitored.
